Spec. 300 (Category I) is a list of specifications for reusable shipping cases and containers by the Air Transport Association. Category I containers are built to withstand at least 100 one-way trips with normal airline cargo handling. The ATA specifications are merely guidelines established by the Air Transport Association to establish criteria for rating the level of shipping strength of various types of shipping containers or cases. What is truly important in any ATA case is how it exceeds the ATA standard and how long it holds up in your shipping environment.
